Lisa van Devender, PharmD

Lisa began her career in healthcare as a registered nurse, working first in critical care for 2 years and then in inpatient adult psychiatry for 10 years. While working as a nurse, she earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Mercer University Southern School of Pharmacy. She then completed a 1-year Drug Information clinical residency at the Medical College of Georgia Hospitals & Clinics, followed by 1-year Drug Information fellowship at Burroughs Wellcome Co. (now GlaxoSmithKline). Following her post-graduate work, Lisa worked in Professional Services at Bristol-Myers Squibb, where she developed and disseminated educational/scientific information on CNS products to healthcare professionals and sales forces, and assisted in sales training initiatives. Lisa then transitioned to a career in the medical communications industry, where she has worked as a medical writer/communicator for two decades. With solid experience in the clinical setting as well as the pharmaceutical and medical communications industries, Lisa has developed content for a wide variety of scientific/educational initiatives (CME and promotional) across a broad range of therapeutic areas.
